Data Management Consultant

I. Position Information

 

Job title: Data Management Consultant 
Supervisor/Manager:  Manager – Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Component

 II. Organizational Context

 

Aahung is a non-profit organization founded in 1995.  Aahung uses a rights-based approach to improve the quality of sexual and reproductive health services provided in Pakistan to men, women and young people. 

 

Through capacity building and information dissemination, Aahung focuses on the creation of an enabling environment in Pakistan where people have comfort with their body, are practicing healthy behaviors and are able to exercise their sexual and reproductive rights.


 III. Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities and Duties/Results Expected 


Key functions by Study Phase

The study has three data collection phases: baseline, midline, and endline. The consultant will be required for three months of data collection. There will be a three-month gap between baseline and midline data collection, and midline and endline data collection. The consultant will also be expected to provide minor support in the middle of the phases, if any is required.


Baseline Data Collection Phase (One month) 

  1. Upload questionnaire on SurveyMonkey
  2. Disseminate survey link to potential candidates
  3. Actively track participant recruitment
  4. Assign respondents unique ID and randomly allocate respondents into intervention and control arms
  5. Manage respondents’ database and baseline dataset
  6. Clean and code the final baseline dataset once the required sample size is achieved

 

Midline Data Collection Phase (One month) – this will take place three months after baseline data collection has completed 

  1. Upload revised questionnaire on SurveyMonkey
  2. Disseminate survey link to study participants
  3. Manage midline dataset
  4. Match participants from baseline dataset to midline dataset
  5. Track study dropouts (if any)
  6. Clean and code the merged dataset once all respondents have completed the survey

 

Endline Data Collection Phase (One month) – this will take place three months after midline data collection has completed 

  1. Upload revised questionnaire on SurveyMonkey
  2. Disseminate survey link to study participants
  3. Manage endline dataset
  4. Match participants across time from the three datasets
  5. Track study dropouts (if any)
  6. Clean and code the merged dataset once all respondents have completed the survey

 


IV. Recruitment Qualifications (this is where all requirements for hiring are put – what level of education, how much experience and where, any language requirements – this is separate from other skills which go in the previous section.  


Education: 

 

Relevant qualification in data management

Experience:

Experience of working in data management in research projects

Language Requirements:

 

 -Bilingual in spoken/written English and Urdu


VI. Working Conditions and Time

Working hours will be standard (9:30 am to 5:30 pm), however, flexibility will be provided as and when required. Since some of the work will take place in the lockdown so the consultant will be expected to work from home for the greater duration of the project. Once the lockdown lifts, the consultant will not be required to come to the office every day, except when called in by the manager. 


VII. Remuneration

 

210,000 for three months (70,000 for each month). Payments will be provided on a monthly basis once the deliverables of the relevant phase are completed. Tax will be deducted as per the FBR regulations.
