Greenstar’s POOCHO helpline was established in 2005 with the objective to provide accurate and reliable family planning information, counseling and referral services to callers and to provide backup support for Greenstar’s products and Sabz Sitara Clinics. In 2019, the need was felt for helpline staff training specifically in Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Right (AYSRHR). Greenstar approached Aahung, who organized a four-day training for POOCHO. The objectives of the training were to enhance comfort level, increase knowledge of, and to strengthen the skills of the helpline agents on Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) and Puberty for adolescents. The topics covered during the training included Value Clarification and Attitudinal Transformation (VCAT), Adolescents and Youth issues, Puberty, Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights, Reproductive Tract Infections (RTIs) and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), Family Planning and Contraception, Post Abortion Care, Effective Communication, and Prevention from Sexual Abuse.
