The overarching goal of the “Play for Preventing Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)” project in Karachi is to address the issue of violence by leveraging Aahung’s expertise in life skills-based education with RTP’s proven play-based methods. The program adopts a “whole school approach” by focusing on the social norms within the school community using a scientifically proven methodology that combines interactive learning to build social and emotional learning with Sexual and reproductive health and rights programming to equip young girls and boys with essential life skills to identify, prevent, and respond to harmful gender norms, harassment, and violence perpetrated in schools.
Through interactive classroom sessions, students learn about rights, consent, healthy relationships, equality, and preventing violence in a way that is engaging and transformative.We are committed to strengthening the school ecosystem to ensure the creation of an enabling, safe, and inclusive environment in which both girls and boys are protected from harassment and violence.
